I don’t know if it’s the Halloween spirit or just the general vibe of 2020 that has me thinking about the zombie apocalypse. We still have 3 months left in this crazy year, which means there’s still a chance of an undead uprising, yeah?

If you’re a writer and a fan of Z movies then, like me, you’ve probably asked yourself if there have ever been writer characters that survived to the end of the films. I have yet to come across one. In real life, not all writers are built to be athletic and capable of outrunning zombies. Some of us don’t have any semblance of adventure skills in our bodies either — so hunting or foraging for food will not be easy. I would probably be an easy kill for zombies if they turn out like those in Korean horror movies — the running, relentlessly biting kind.

However, as a writer, I believe I have specific skills that might just help me outlive other people during a zombie apocalypse. Come, fellow writers! Let’s put those writing skills to good use today and hone them for the end of the world. We might just be the survivors the world needs.
